To truly be successful at managing your finances, or anything else, you must learn to be a good steward. So what is a steward?
What does it mean to be a steward? What does the bible say about stewardship? When it comes to managing money, wealth and the most valuable possessions of a person, how can you be successful?
The ancient Greek word for steward is 'epitropos' which means 'a guardian or curator.' This Greek word for steward also means 'an overseer or manager of households or lands' or even 'protector of someone's children.' So this ancient Greek word used in the Bible defines a steward as 'a trustworthy person who guards and takes care of the most valuable things for someone else.
So then one definition of 'stewardship' as the bible would define stewardship is simply 'the job of supervising or taking care of something.' While this is simple in concept, the actual performance of this task is something much more difficult for most.
In managing finances, many think all you need is discipline and wisdom. While discipline and wisdom are two important factors in managing money, it's not enough to truly succeed, because many still lose money this way. That's why to truly succeed in managing wealth you need to learn how to be a good steward.
Even as a business owner, who owns everything, you can still learn how to be a good steward. Business owners who learn about stewardship will greatly impact their finances and businesses for the good. And can impact many lives for good.
